HUMBLE ABODE

Intending to deliver a functional and low maintenance project that is friendly to the golden ager and breaks all stereotypes of typical high-end interior decoration. This project embraces principles of pure design where space and element planning become the crux of the project.

In order to stay within the limited budget specified, no major changes were made in civil work including flooring and layouts. The renovation concentrated mainly on giving large uninterrupted living space which would form the nucleus of the house along with a larger master bedroom which would be used on a daily basis. Half a bedroom which seemed redundant in the layout was broken down and the guest bedroom was shrunken to allow way for a larger master bed. In the project, the challenge was to design an elder-friendly, but tastefully designed apartment. This apartment includes an extensive use of white and neutral colors, which are punctuated by vibrant colors to impart a unique character to each space.

The apartment thus enjoys minimalist aesthetics of pure geometries and neatness balanced with light filigree and functionality.
