Project Description

The concept for the villa sprung from these constraints and attempted to expand on the Scandinavian minimal theme as a muse for a new contemporary home which balances different styles in smooth transitions and exudes peace and warmth.

Highlight of the villa is ground floor space planning which takes advantage of the expanded space and re-arranges spaces to create fluid multi-functional zones in relation to outdoor landscape. These spaces include formal living adjacent to a laid-back lounge catering to kids. The lounge in turn opens to formal dining which is also the space to entertain along with a kid’s nook under the staircase.

The worn-out brickwork in these spaces lends a rustic feel to the space, which is balanced by a Scandinavian look combined with yellow bursts. As one transitions to the first floor, blues pop in. A kid's space includes a bedroom and a playroom where chalkboard and wallpaper selected by the children add to the fun quotient. Master bedroom attempts to balance rustic elements like the textured wall against a high gloss panel, while the extended walk-in closet seamlessly blends itself into the partially existing cabinetry.

Landscape design is modest to offer kids an open play zone. There is a balance between outdoor social areas and interior social spaces of the villa with a monkey bar and a vegetable garden to appeal to young plant lovers.
