THE EXTENSION

This project is an example where architecture as a form needs to highly subdue itself to allow the context to dominate and interiors need to be minimal for function to take charge.

The project brief comprised of extension over a terrace for an existing Villa at Emirates Hills, Dubai to cater to the requirement of a gymnasium and card room. They wished the extension was more transparent and seamlessly blended into the existing villa. The sunroom, acting as the card room was introduced to allow light into the existing guest room.
