Project Description
15-storied commercial high-rise building. Designed to be an iconic building for Mumbai, the project has won awards as the Best Commercial Project in Mumbai in 2012 and 2013.
The design responds to both the urban and environmental constraints of the site. Arcades which have always been a feature of Mumbai's history, break the scale of the project and make it more pedestrian friendly. Arcades are topped with a seemingly floating glass tube which forms an eye-catching feature at night.
The southern side of the building is covered with a trellis which originates at the terrace level and folds down at the ground level into a canopy. This helps in reducing solar gain on the Southern façade. Bookmark faces of the project are lined with vertical-colored glass fins which are meant to mimic red sandstone shades. In this composition, light, shadow, and masses interact to create an interesting interplay.
