VILLA EXTENSION

This project is an example where architecture as a form needs to significantly subdue itself to allow the context to dominate.

The project brief comprised an extension over a terrace for an existing Villa at Emirates Hills, Dubai to cater to the requirement of a gymnasium and card room. They wished the extension was more transparent and seamlessly blended into the original villa. The sunroom, acting as the card room was introduced to allow light into the previous guest room. The gymnasium then became the transparent addon which blended seamlessly into the existing villa with the help of GRC moldings and matching finishes.
